Operations Manager
Beaumont/Port Arthur TX
Direct, staff position, Salary will depend on experience
Your role:
We employ a staff of operations management personnel that are highly experienced in operating petroleum refining and/or chemicals processes and equipment. On a daily basis, our Operations Managers work with refinery operations personnel, turnaround professionals, maintenance personnel and process engineers to plan and carry out preparation work for major unit shutdowns (turnarounds, maintenance, etc.) and institute cleaning strategies to improve operating efficiencies.
• Lead a team of our employees as they execute clearing and cleaning activities in the refinery
• Create, review and implement MOC-level clearing and cleaning procedures using computer-based document and CAD programs
• Train client operations personnel on our cleaning and clearing strategies
• Follow-up with clients to ensure that we meet or exceed their expectations
• Conduct business in a safe manner consistent with our Quality Policy, with an emphasis on a servant's heart and competitive urgency
• Build key relationships with multiple levels of employees at our client companies
• Participate in sales presentations, lending refinery expertise to specific application strategies
• Control costs through daily prudent decisions
Ideal skill set:
• Ten years of refinery or chemical plant operations experience; A preference is given to those with significant knowledge of crude, coker and FCC units
• Experience leading teams in refinery or chemical plants. A preference is given to those with supervisory experience and lead turnaround roles.
• Ability to travel to outlying markets for supporting a growing list of clients.
• Interest in helping others (servant’s heart), and enjoy developing new relationships.
• Understanding of complex refinery piping circuits
• Ability to plan unit cleanings in the simple yet effective manner
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems during the actual applications
• Quickly master software tools such as MS Visio, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
