SAFETY & TRAINING SPECIALIST
HOUSTON, TEXAS
DESCRIPTION:
We’re looking for a Safety & Training Specialist who will:
• The primary responsibility of the offshore STS1 is to coordinate all health, safety, training, and compliance related activities on the facility he/she is assigned to and to administer first aid treatment to injured/ill personnel and facilitate emergency medical evacuation as necessary.
• This is an offshore position. Qualified candidates must be able to work 14/14 and have transportation the Galliano, Louisiana departure location.

BACKGROUND:
The ideal candidate will have:
• High School Degree required; Associate Degree in a safety area preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a safety position on production/drilling facility
• Preferred completion of OSHA 30 hour course.
• Training in first aid/CPR; marine survival, advance fire fighting; H2S, rescue, NORM, Hazwoper, MSDS, and crane operation.
• This person will be responsible for emergency response which includes providing first aid treatment to injured/ill personnel and facilitating emergency evacuation as needed.
• He/She will also be responsible for all required drills, inspections, maintenance, and recordkeeping associated with facility fire fighting and lifesaving equipment.
• Must have experience facilitating incident prevention, reporting, and investigation.
• Must have experience assisting required on-board training and orientation.
• Must be able to facilitate Job Safety Analyses and the Permit to Work System including Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, Cold Work and Confined Space Entry.
• Will need to be able to coordinate USCG inspections, assist OIM with daily safety planning, emergency response teams, Safety Observation Programs, etc.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds.
